DIY Gift Card Holder with BIC Mark-It™ Permanent Markers #BICMerryMarking #HoneyBrown
This is a sponsored post written by me on behalf of BIC® for IZEA. All opinions are 100% mine.
It’s that time of year again and everyone is looking for teacher gift ideas. I have a simple DIY gift card holder for those of us who are procrastinators and who need a little inspiration to be creative this year.
Every year I feel stumped to come up with a teacher gift for Benjamin’s teacher(s) because I get caught up in all the Pinterest-y gifts that I see online. I’m just not overly creative and I usually wait until the last minute so I start to feel overwhelmed. This year I decided to start thinking about this a little earlier and try to make something a little creative, but you can bet it’s not going to go viral on Pinterest.
I was challenged by BIC to create something from the #BICMerryMarking booklet with the #HoneyBrown BIC Mark-It™ permanent marker and I decided this DIY gift card holder would be simple enough, but just personal enough to make a great gift for Benjamin’s First Grade teacher. I know that she loves coffee (and who wouldn’t when they are teaching 18 six year olds) so I decided that a McDonald’s gift card would be the best idea…since McD has the best coffee in our little town.
All you need to make this simple craft is two index cards, scissors, tape, and a BIC Mark-It™ permanent marker. Cut one of the index cards in the shape of a flower and tape the sides to the second index card. Write your special message on the card with your marker and insert the gift card. See…easy peasy…even for a procrastinator like me!
Of course, the markers themselves make a great gift if you have a creative person on your gift list. These markers come in 36 packs for fine and ultra fine tip sizes for endless inspiration! You can also pick up 8 packs of Metallic colors for that extra sparkle!
BIC Mark-It™ permanent markers offer vibrant colors that are low odor and acid free, making them family-friendly so even your children can help make these DIY gift card holders, too. If you need even more inspiration you can get the booklet of merry marking and a coupon to start marking these fun Holiday Gifts and special notes for loved ones this Holiday Season!
Now that you’ve seen what I made, I challenge my readers to create something DIY with the BIC Mark-It™ permanent markers. Share it on my Facebook page or link it here in the comments and I’ll share it out, too! I’m also going to challenge three of my fellow bloggers, Amy from As the Bunny Hops, Christy from Insanity is not an Option, and Jillian from Mommy Testers…who are much more creative than me. I can’t wait to see what THEY make!
How fun!
I can think of so many uses and occasions to use Bic markers! Birthdays, Valentine’s Day…I’m getting some creative ideas. Thanks!

Cute! I think homemade things are always better anyhow, especially since gift card holders are so expensive!
This is a great idea considering some of the store bought gift card holders can be expensive…all for it to be thrown away after use.
What a great idea for year round. It is not so easy finding really perfect gift card holders for all those on your list. This would give it a personal touch.

That is such a cute idea. I will have to keep this in mind for the future.
