Toddler Gift Idea: Little Tikes 4-in-1 Trike
I received a Little Tikes 4 in 1 trike for the purposes of a review on this blog. I thought it would make the perfect toddler gift idea for my niece! No other compensation was received. All opinions, stories, and photos are my own.
When Benjamin was a toddler, we didn’t go places very often. I don’t know if I was too scared to leave the house or just worried something would happen, whether we were just too broke to get out or if I was just lazy. For whatever reason, he only used his stroller maybe three times before he grew too big for it.
My sister, on the other hand, is a go-getter, and she is always on the move. Her toddler, my sweet niece P, loves to go, go, go as well. They are always finding something fun to do or somewhere fun to go. My sister mentioned to me that P was just not digging on her stroller too much lately because it makes her lay down or at least recline just a little. Plus, it was just too bulky to get in and out of the car and they’ve been going to festivals where the ground is not always conducive to stroller wheels.
So, when Little Tikes offered to send me a 4-in-1 Trike, I thought it would be the best toddler gift idea for the two of them!
This adorable trike came just in time for the beautiful weather we are getting in Texas right now. We put it together – which I will mention is a little bit of a task, just sayin’ – and got the kids outside to try it out. P fit perfectly into the seat at the smallest setting. She is 16 months now and her feet hit perfectly on the foot rests (we’ll get to those in a minute). This todder gift idea is perfect for a 1st birthday present or a Christmas present for a child ages 9 months to 3 years old.
You always want extra safety with a toddler and my sister was happy to see the harness that holds P into place. The straps connect in six places around the shoulders and the legs and across the chest. P was safe and secure as we got ready to hit the road with our new trike.
Speaking of hitting the road, this trike has a safety lock on the handlebars so your toddler won’t veer from the path before she is ready to ride on her own. Once she’s old enough to ride on her own, unlock the button and she’s off to explore the world.
This trike has three seat settings to grow with your child. As you see it in my photos, the seat is set at the smallest setting so little P. The blue bar around the seat helps hold in your little toddler from toddling right off the side of her trike. Those bars; however, do not fit the trike as the seat goes to position 2 and 3. My sister pointed out that the bars around the seat were wide enough so that she could fit chubby P with her winter coat in the seat with no trouble. She mentioned that similar models from other companies that she has tried were harder to fit and she had to struggle to get P’s legs in the trike.
Note: Notice just below the seat, there are foot rests that are folded up. I’m going to show those to you next!
Here they are – these cute little feet rests are just the right height to keep little P’s baby feet safe and secure. The little toddler loves to drag her feet on the ground and loves to get dirty, but with these, she is unable to drag her feet on the ground and risk getting pulled into the trike’s tires. As you saw above, they do fold up with the click of those little black buttons so when your toddler no longer needs them, they are out of the way.
Now, let’s talk about a few more goodies included on this Little Tikes 4-in-1 Trike. My sister was very impressed with the big bucket at the back of the trike. She has looked at other brands that have tiny little containers and she loved all the space. Of course, this trike has a removable handle for when your toddler is ready to ride on her own. I will say that I wish the handle was a little easier to remove (there is a pin underneath the trike that has to be unclasped and pulled out to remove it) but this is still a great feature for easy transporting in the car. And with toddlers and safe riding toys, you have to have a safety brake so your toddler can’t take off without you!
Since you’re going to be on the go, you’re going to need a water bottle holder and this one has a great attachment for holding your refreshments. On the right in this photo, you can see the umbrella holder-upper that makes it adjust to wherever you need it whether the sun is on top or on the left or right. You’ll see the umbrella better in just a minute.
Finally, you can’t do without your Mommy Bag on the trike. This bag is big enough for your keys, phone, wallet, a few snacks…anything you will need for a long day of walking at a festival or just going out for a walk in the evening.
Once we had checked out all the cool features on the Little Tikes 4-in-1 Trike, we just had to take it for a spin. Batman showed up to help push the trike and P was excited to go for a ride. We think this is just about the coolest trike you could find these days and it’s so easy to drive that even a Benjamin-sized Batman can push it!
This is a really cute trike! I love the handle bars so the adult can push from behind without breaking their back bending over!!
Trikes are awesome and my toddler loves his trike. Buying another one for the my princess tomorrow.
Little Tikes is such a great brand. Haven’t had a toddler around for a while but I remember the days!
