How to Get the Best Auto Insurance Quote (Free Printable “On Board” Car Signs)
Now that I’m all grown up and stuff (whether I want to be or not) I have to think about bills and saving money and one of the ways I look to save money is through shopping for the best auto insurance quote and today, as part of a sponsored post for #CollectiveBias, I am bringing you some tips on getting the best quotes online. I’ve also made some FREE printable “on board” car signs for you to download and use in your own vehicle! You all know that all opinions here are my own and I wouldn’t tell you about something if I didn’t truly believe in it, right? #Compare2Win
Howard and I only have one vehicle right now because we decided several years ago that we needed to save money and two car payments just didn’t fit in our budget. I bought this Jeep just after we met and at the time I didn’t know that we would have a baby on the way soon. It’s now almost 7 years old and we’ve taken pretty good care of it so it was the one we chose when we decided to pare down to just one vehicle. Now that our boy is in Kindergarten and playing multiple sports, we are once again looking at our bills to see where we can pare down. We’ve taken care of the cable and phone bills. We’re saving on electricity and groceries. The Jeep is almost paid off. Our next step was to find a way to get the best auto insurance quote to make the most of our money.
How to Get the Best Auto Insurance Quote
1. Know your current coverage
When you head out to shop for new auto insurance, you need to know what you want, how you want it, and how much you can spend. There are so many choices for coverage that you need to know the facts. Take a look at your current coverage and determine how much you will need for accident/collision insurance, full coverage or liability only coverage, deductible, incidentals, and so on. If you know what you currently have, then you will know what you need.
2. Know your driving record
Part of the consideration for car insurance rates is your driving record so you’ll want to know what is on your record in the past 5 years. If you are married or are adding children to your policy, you will need to know their records as well.
3. Know what your state requires
Car insurance is regulated on a state level so you will need to know at least the minimum requirements for your state. Check out your state’s website for more information on this.
4. Know your potential discounts
Insurance companies normally have special discounts for safe drivers or drivers who have taken special classes. There are also discounts for theft protection devices on your vehicle. Know what you have and what potential discounts you could receive before shopping around.
5. Shop around!
While you don’t want to skimp on your car insurance, it’s always best to shop around for the best auto insurance quote. In this world of technology and social media, what better way to shop around than online? I visited AutoInsurance.com recently to find out where my best rate would be and found out that I’m already getting my maximum benefits with my current carrier. AutoInsurance.com has several different carriers to help show you what your rates would be if you just shop around a little.
Getting a quote is super easy and fast and you may not even need to know some of the information I listed above because AutoInsurance.com can access your current policy for you. You can fill in what you want, when you want it, and get a quote instantly. If you find a quote that you love, you can even buy it online right away. Easy peasy, right?
Please note: Only residents of the following states will have full functionality of the website at this time: Texas, Arkansas, Oklahoma, Missouri, Louisiana, Tennessee, and Mississippi
Now that we are done talking about bills and saving money and all that grown-up stuff, let’s get to the fun stuff and let me show you a few of the fun “on board” car signs that I made!
Free Printable “On Board” Car Signs
I know that being safe on the road is always your number one priority, but you can’t control the other crazies out there. Post your “on board” sign to let the other drivers know that you have precious cargo in the vehicle and maybe, just maybe, people will slow down and be a little more careful around you.
TIP: Click on the image for the full size .jpg and this should print on an 8.5 x 11 sheet.
Of course, you knew I would have to make one for my favorite Kindergartener. He’s my super cool boy who makes me want to be a Super Cool Mom.
Precious cargo, indeed. Everyone knows someone who has battled Cancer and I thought it was important to honor Breast Cancer Survivors first.
The typical Baby on Board sign couldn’t be left out so I made a baby girl and baby boy on board sign as well.
And for those of you who are crafty and want to make your own sign, feel free to edit these with your own special “on board” message.
I would love to make you a sign as well! If you have a special sign you would like, just email me at janet(at)goingcrazywannago(dot)com and let me know what you would like!
