335.0 – Challenges and Celebrations in Weight Loss (Fatty Friday)
As with most weeks, this week came with its own challenges and its own celebrations.
You see, Howard and I are getting healthier physically, but we are still financially very ill. We don’t know how to manage money and we go through peaks and valleys with our money on hand. This week was definitely a valley so we struggled with how to feed our little family and still be healthy. It turns out that if you eat at home all week, or struggle to find the money to eat at all, that you can still lose weight. Sounds depressing, but it comes with the territory when you are bad with money like us. We always make sure that our boy has money on his lunch account at school, has food for his lunch if he decides to take his lunch (most days) and that he has a good healthy meal for breakfast and dinner. Sometimes that means that we are getting a full meal, but usually we are just getting something like a meat without the sides or the sides without a meat. In any case, that was our challenge this week.
The celebration this week is that Howard and I have been feeling great! We feel good physically and mentally and our marriage is thriving even more because of this. We have been having (ahem) more intimate moments and we have been laughing more. Feeling good about your body and your choices of food is a good thing.
So, here’s the final result of the week…
I lost 2.6 lbs this week!
Howard got to weigh in with me again this week and he lost 4.6 lbs! I guess maybe he and I got a little “exercise” this week.
