Photo Printing Ideas at the corner of Happy and Healthy
How many pictures have you taken of your children in the past year? What about from the time your child was born until they were 5 years old? How many of those have you actually printed and framed? What are your favorite photo printing services?
I am a picture taking fanatic. From the time I first bought a camera phone, I have been taking pictures and sharing them on Facebook and email. I have often laughed about my boy’s Baby Book is actually on Facebook because I am bad about printing them. When I do print the pictures from my phone, I have always used Walgreen’s photo printing services because they are fast, easy, reliable, affordable, and I can print from the comfort of my home and pick them up later. My favorite photo printing from Walgreen’s has always been the collages, but my sister has made prints for me several times at Walgreen’s from the fun times they have together.
At his fifth birthday party, I was able to pass around photos of my boy from his daycare class to our family members. This past week, we picked up photos of our boy and his basketball team and photos from our Mommy-Son Valentine’s dance and Hubby mentioned that we have bought more photos of our boy in the past three months than we have in his entire life. This made me start thinking about photo gifts for our family members and I decided that I would make some Easter Basket gifts for the family this year featuring pictures of our boy and our family.
Easy Photo Printing with the Walgreen’s App
I have been hearing a lot about the Walgreen’s app lately and one of the exciting features I am interested in was the photo printing directly from the app. Since I am completely addicted to apps for my Android, I was happy to download it and give it a try. From the app, I can create photo prints of many sizes directly from the photo folders on my phone or from my Baby Book Facebook albums. It was really fun to browse through the thousands of photos on Facebook and look at the likes and comments that came along with each one.
I also looked through my abundance of photos on my phone and picked out a few of my favorites. It was difficult not to want to print every single one, but I know that if I printed them all I wouldn’t have a place to put them all. I just printed 20 and then later printed 5 more. I couldn’t wait to go pick them up to see how they turned out on photo paper. Of course, I knew with Walgreen’s that I didn’t have to wait long because the prints are done in an hour and ready for pick-up. My Walgreen’s is also less than a mile from my house.
Easter Basket Ideas at the corner of #HappyHealthy
When I headed to Walgreen’s to pick up the photos, I also picked up the makings of some very special Easter baskets. I found some really great deals on photo frames, baskets, and some healthy snacks so I decided that I would build Easter baskets for six of our family members.
I have a confession to make. I am in love with the seasonal aisle of Walgreen’s. I think that my husband and son are in on the obsession as well because we can never walk into Walgreen’s without browsing the aisle. When we are building an Easter basket or Christmas stocking, Hubby and I always head to this aisle first because the goodies found here are the best…with the best prices as well. In fact, there are times that Hubby will take our boy in for something quick and come out with a treasure from this aisle.
You can probably imagine that I had a little field day on this aisle while I was trying to shop, but I refrained from buying too many goodies because Hubby would want to help me build our boy’s Easter basket. I just have to mention that I was blown away by one side of the aisle that was almost all non-candy treats for baskets. I’m so proud of the healthy message that Walgreen’s is sending by giving so many great non-candy gifts ideas.
I picked up my photos from the photo printing area of Walgreen’s and several frames (at buy one, get one free – woot!) and a few other treats for my baskets and then headed home to build the baskets. So many of the photos turned out so great and they look amazing in the frames. I’m going to have a hard time choosing which photo and which frame goes to which family member…and which ones I am dying to keep for myself! How many times do you think these photos will be changed out before Easter actually gets here?
I made six Easter baskets with a special photo in a beautiful frame, a healthy snack, cotton balls (because they are so much cleaner than that silly Easter grass!), and a Spring metal yard art stick. I love them all and I am so excited about Easter now.
Walgreen’s Balance Rewards ROCKS!
When I downloaded the Walgreen’s app, I signed up for Balance Rewards and got my very own card on my phone. I obviously have not built up any rewards yet, but when I checked out I asked the cashier to scan my card from the phone. I saved 33% on my shopping trip and that was a total surprise!
What fun baskets! I’m sure your family will love them
The Walgreens app is ah-mah-zing. I need to try the photo printing option and get these pictures of Bubbles printed before she graduates HS!
