That Crazy Man I Love {and Divorce Court}
I have a secret confession to make. I totally put “Divorce Court” in the title of this post to catch your attention. I really am writing today about the man I love and no, we aren’t headed for Divorce Court. Phew! Don’t hate me and before you leave, hear me out because there is a point to this {and a giveaway at the end as well!}
I have been off work this week in order to clean our house and prepare for my son’s 5th birthday party this weekend. On Monday, I spent most of the day writing a post about my latest quick and healthy dinner ideas, including mashed cauliflower “potatoes” and I didn’t really get much else done. On Tuesday, I really got things moving on the clean-up. I started with the carport that had become a dumping ground for the junk out of our Jeep when things got crowded. It had also apparently become the place where all of the leaves from our yard gathered for the winter. I cleaned up all the junk and cleaned up my “fabulous life of a review blogger” hoard stockpile boxes.
During my big clean-up on Tuesday, I turned the television on in the living room for some noise in the background. I flipped through a few channels and I don’t remember what I stopped on, but after that show ended Divorce Court came on. I normally don’t watch trash TV like this. It’s really quite pointless and not real at all. The couple kept catching my attention because they were arguing over who was the most unfaithful or the worst parent to their children. All of that was ridiculous, but what really bothered me was the commercial break. The judge of the show came on the screen and asked the question:
“Do you feel that cheating on your significant other is justified if you are not satisfied in the bedroom?”
There are obviously so many things wrong with this question. I started to just blow it off, but I was alone at home and my mind just fixates on things like this. You know…the whole conversation goes on in my head (that happens to you, too, right…?). I don’t understand why anyone would think that anything could justify cheating on your significant other, especially such a trivial “reason” as not being satisfied in the bedroom. I think the bigger questions are:
If you are not satisfied in the bedroom, isn’t there something more wrong with your relationship that just a night of sex would never solve?
If you are considering cheating on your significant other, is that person even significant anymore at all?
Why is this show even on anymore?
{ok, I know the answer to this one and that’s because society is messed up in the head}
Why I Love My Husband: Part Four
That Crazy Man I Love {and Divorce Court}
Now for more of my never-ending list…
16. He reminded me to write this post today. (see, babe, I told you I would put this first :-*) My husband has become much more interested and supportive of my blog lately, and not just because I’m writing about him. He is interested in what I am writing and he likes to read it. This feels so great and makes the work seem much less “work”-like. This should have said: He supports my work and cheers me on.
17. He got up at 2am this morning with our boy. I am not sure why, but our boy occasionally wakes up in the early morning (or middle of the night) and can’t go back to sleep. It is usually no earlier than 4am, but 99% of the time, Hubby is the one to stay up with him. On most nights when this happens, I have usually been up late on the blog Facebook and may have just fallen asleep. Hubby tends to fall asleep much earlier than me so it sorta evens out (not really, but that’s why Hubby is awesome). Yesterday I was extremely sore from all the work I did on Tuesday (I’m lame, I know) and for some reason I could not make myself wake up. I even told Hubby at one point to go back to bed and I would stay up, but then I fell back asleep so he was still stuck staying awake. Hopefully, they will both sleep better tonight.
18. He tries my food and (I think) likes it. I’ve been trying out a little creativity in the kitchen lately. He gives me tips when I ask, but it’s actually a little fun to try new things. He even bought me a cooking magazine yesterday that I found with ideas for cooking chicken.
19. He’s just so darn handsome. When Hubby and I first “met” online he asked me what type of look on a man was my type. My exact words “chunky with a goatie”. He and I were talking about sexy wrestlers yesterday (I have no idea what brought that up…) and he said he would like to look like John Cena or maybe Randy Orton. Although I can admit those two men are pretty hot, I think my husband is very handsome and I am always attracted to him. I’m not sure that he actually believes that, but it’s true!
20. He teaches our boy about respect. Hubby is a very respectful man and has strong opinions about respect for women. He works hard to teach our son this respect every day.
I’m building this never-ending list every Thursday with the Happy Wives Club. Sometimes, it will be mushy and sometimes it will be hilarious, but it will always be true.
I won’t lie and say we don’t have a freebie celebrity person.

Oh, I definitely have a freebie celebrity! Jon Bon Jovi (and maybe Johnny Depp) – I have a weird obsession with J names as well as a drool problem with hot men!
I am with you on the Divorce Court mess. Why is it still on? I always wonder 1} what will the kids think about that and 2} if these people really just paid actors.
Also, as far as the cheating thing goes – everybody knows it’s only okay to cheat on your spouse if it’s a celebrity from your “ok to cheat” list.

So…who is on yours??
So happy to know I’m not the only one that has these conversations in my head (and yes, you had me at the Divorce Court title :)).

Thanks! It keeps me on my toes, watching for ways to list each week. Some weeks are much easier than others.
I used to watch Divorce Court when I was younger, and always wondered why people would choose to air the worst parts of their lives on television. Your husband sounds like a really wonderful man!

Divorce Court and Jerry Springer…I’ll never understand!
LOL! I completely forgot about Springer. I loved that show when I was in college. Now, I can’t understand why it ever amused me. I mean, it’s not like you can even understand what’s going on with every other word bleeped out!

Thank you so much! We had a great party and he’s a happy little 5 year old now.
I need to get on a series of why I love my man. We’re so much in love and I need to spread it to the world!
Also, society is messed up. I don’t even get it anymore. We don’t even get cable anymore because honestly, television is crap.
