That Crazy Man I Love {and shopping}
Last night when we all got home, I was so hungry and cranky. I'm not sure what is different this time around with our eating plan, but I get hungrier faster and my blood sugar gets low.
I was called from daycare yesterday that my boy had one too many poop accidents and he didn't have any clean pants, only underwear, so I had to go pick him up at 3. We went home and cleaned a little before it was time to pick up Hubby, but I still didn't snack. After picking him up, I laid down while the boy went and played in his room and Hubby cooked dinner.
After dinner, the boys just got up and went to play (that never happens) and left me alone to relax. Of course, after I had eaten I felt fine and I didn't know what to do with myself, but hey…I got about a half hour of alone time!
The Boy was all about Daddy time last night and that is a refreshing feeling for me. I love them both so much, but there are just times when I need to be alone.
Why I Love My Husband: Part Three
That Crazy Man I Love {and shopping}
Now for more of my never-ending list…
11. He doesn't make me go grocery shopping. I never really "learned" to grocery shop and when I lived alone for so many years I would shop once a month and then eat until everything was gone. I ate a lot of cereal and peanut butter and jelly. I hate grocery shopping because you spend a bunch of money and then get home and you don't have anything to eat!
12. He takes our boy shopping alone. My husband works in a grocery store, but when he gets off work he does not want to shop in that store…until about an hour later. He tends to shop daily for dinner, or at least he needs an ingredient or two every day. So, after I pick him up and we pick the boy up, he wants to go back. He takes the boy in and I stay in the car. Did I mention I hate grocery shopping?
13. He keeps our boy home when I shop. Although I hate grocery shopping (did I mention that?) I don't mind shopping in general (if I have money). I have been shopping a lot more since I started working with Collective Bias, but sometimes I need to take my time and really look around (and take pics so you all can see them). When I have to do that, a lot of times Hubby will keep the boy home with him. They have a mini boys' night and I bring home something fun to do or a cool meal!
14. He lets our boy beat him up. He tells me that I let that boy walk all over me, but he lets the boy do that ^^ on a regular basis! Since our family became slightly obsessed with WWE wrestling, the boy will literally dive bomb Hubby at night. They have a good time, Daddy usually gets a punch either in the face or in the Mommy-Daddy button…and then things stop…for a few minutes.
15. He thinks of me first. When Hubby is shopping for groceries (alone or with the boy because I rarely go in unless it is a BIG shop) he always thinks of what I want first. When money was/is really tight, and ribs are on sale (his and the boy's favorite) he will pass them up just to get something I like. They also tend to pick me up something as a prize, like a small bouquet of flowers or a hair bow. I love these two!
I'm building this never-ending list every Thursday with the Happy Wives Club. Sometimes, it will be mushy and sometimes it will be hilarious, but it will always be true.
The Mister loves to cook, and loves to clean. He’s an odd one.

Enjoy it!!
Somehow my husband ended up doing the grocery shopping at the supermarket more for the two of us…he leaves Target (my third favorite place, after Disneyland and Las Vegas) to me because I get all the toddlers food & snacks there, along with other (non)necessities.

Phew..I don’t let myself go free in Target often, but when I do…hide the debit card!
Awesome list…I am loving these!
I wish my husband would go grocery shopping for me…but he does clean the bathrooms because he knows I can’t stand it!

Cleaning the bathrooms would be a nice chore for a husband, too!
What a wonderful man you have!!! I don’t allow my husband to grocery shop or cook! He does to laundry for me though!

Laundry husbands ROCK! I would actually gladly do the cooking if he would do the laundry!
But honestly…he actually does do the laundry. What do I do, anyway…?
Your husband sounds like a wonderful man, very supportive and thoughtful!

Thanks, Emily…I think I’ll keep him.
Hi, I came over from the Happy Wives Club. I enjoy reading about your marriage every week. You have a wonderful husband! I have one of those, too. We are so blessed!
Thank you so much for visiting. Congrats on finding a good one, too!
Have I told you how much I love your husband too! Every week when I read your list, I just smile. How’s every thing going at his work, by the way? Is the boss letting him have his hour for you guys to have your lunch dates again?

Yes! I think the boss is getting accustomed to the store a little more and things have died down at work. We are coming up on Super Bowl and first of the month so they will see a surge in meat sales in the next two weeks. In the meantime, I was even about to surprise him with lunch one day!
That’s an awesome surprise!

I love your list every week! It’s wonderful.
And I can tell your husband is a really great guy!

Thanks, he really is a keeper.
Yay for you & your hubby in knowing that sometimes you need some alone time! It is a fantastic way for you to recharge your batteries. Plus it’s really great for your son to spend some time with his daddy. Oh, and double yay for him doing all the grocery shopping! My hubby does ours too and I’d just die if I had to take that responsibility over again!

When I was couponing hard core, I was into it and he loved shopping with me. We would even get a babysitter so we could focus on the coupons without the whining. Now…not so much again. If I never entered another grocery store, it would not break my heart.
How sweet! It’s those little things like taking your son so you can have a little quiet that mean a lot!
I didn’t answer your question. Mine will put away dishes from dishwasher and fold clothes. I hate both..I don’t mind lugging them down two flights of stairs, sorting, washing, and even hanging up outside but I hate folding and putting away (if they are all done there’s no room!)
Oh I am the same way! I do not like putting away laundry, but then when I’m digging through a basket looking for my boy’s underwear and socks, I hate doing that too! On Tuesday, Hubby was off work and he did ALL the laundry AND put it away!
