That Crazy Man I Love {and why}
This week has been rough. Actually, I guess it’s been almost two weeks of rough. My family has been through the ringer recently with work stress, money stress, sleep {or lack of} stress, and just haven’t been meshing well. It goes on…it’s boring crap…but my point is, we are exhausted and we need some “us” time.
Usually when we get like this, a little family reconnecting time is in order, but last night things just got too much to handle and it all ended with Hubby falling asleep and me texting him {don’t judge, at least I didn’t wake him} and telling him that I was frustrated and needed some time with just us. When he woke up, before waking us, he texted back with almost the same feelings and the same need for some “us” time. So, we’re working on planning a date night…right away…and maybe even a date weekend!
That is not the point of this post, however. I need a refresher {and I need to remind Hubby} of why I love him and I need to do this on a regular basis. I’m following the lead of Happy Wives Club and I’m going to start building my never-ending list of Why I Love My Husband.
Why I Love My Husband: Part One
That Crazy Man I Love {and why}
1. That man, bless his heart, can barely type his name on a keyboard, but he made a profile for himself on Yahoo.com and found me and that’s how we met.
2. He is a hard-working, loyal to his job {and sometimes his detriment}, dedicated employee. This is what makes me KNOW that when he sets his mind to something he will do it.
3. He looks at me like I’m the most beautiful woman in the world because he truly believes it {he needs to go to the eye doctor, but he won’t because he thinks we can’t afford it, but that should be another reason of its own}.
4. He wants to be {and is!} the best daddy to our son that he can possibly be. Our boy already believes it and craves time with him, so he just needs to accept it and own it!
5. He cries. Sometimes he cries happy tears, sometimes sad, sometimes embarrassed, sometimes mad, but he is never afraid to cry…at least around me.
I’m planning to keep up with this list every Thursday as a Never-Ending List. Sometimes, it will be mushy {like today, because we’re having a rough time and it was needed} and sometimes it will be hilarious, but it will always be true.
Hi Janet! This is Mai at the Happy Wives Club and Fawn wanted to make sure you saw the note that our Thursday link up party has now moved to Marriage Mondays – beginning today. We want to get all our favorite married bloggers linking up every Monday so we hope you’ll join us.

I did and thank you! I linked up and I may continue to write this on Thursday, but link up on Monday. I haven’t decided. Thank you for letting me know!
Such a sweet post Janet! It’s wonderful that you can look past the little stuff and be reminded why you fell in love with your spouse in the first place. I’m slowly working on this, day-by-day. Thanks for inspiring me!

I think when it feels difficult to find these reasons is the best time to list them out.
I love this idea. I need to do something like this. We have 8 kids and DH works 60-80 hours every week. Some weeks it just makes us miss each other more and get along fabulously- other times it leaves me feeling so overwhelmed I just want to cry.. and yell at him to help around here! I also took on the date night challenge this year where you plan a date each month with your husband. We just had our date night for January and I am planning the one for February (setting up sitters and buying a gift card so we for SURE have no reason to not do it.)
I love the gift card idea! We could budget it in our monthly bills and then have no excuse…maybe even an extra gift card for whichever family member offered to watch our boy while we went out. Thanks for the idea!
Too many times we hear people complain about their spouses and what they do wrong. This post is great because it shows the love for your partner. Sounds like you’ve got a keeper!
Aww, thanks! I guess I’ll keep him for a while.
I love this post because of how much I can relate to it! Sometimes our household steps back and does the same thing. It always results in something great!

We need to do a LOT of stepping back right now. We started out rough, went through a third year honeymoon, and now we are back to just co-existing. Life is HARD! Married life is even harder…and life with a 4 year old…I need a “chill pill” or something!
What a sweet post. Thanks so much for sharing!!!

I hope I can keep up with it as well. There are so many things I love about him and when we’re having a rough patch that is when I need to list them even more. Thank you for the inspiration!
