Protect your skin with Banana Boat Natural Reflect Sunscreen
Banana Boat Natural Reflect Sunscreen
The end of summer is coming near, but there is one last holiday that screams outdoors and that is Labor Day. Growing up, Labor Day weekend for me was a weekend at the lake or fishing with a boyfriend. I’ve always had tough skin and would tan rather than burn, but as I get older (and stay indoors more) my skin has become more sensitive.
Skin cancer runs in my dad’s side of the family. I can remember seeing scars and sores on my grandfather as he got older and had to get cancers cut off. I now see my dad going through this same problem. He has a few cancers cut off every few months. I have two aunts who are fair skinned with red hair and sun protection is in their daily makeup routine because of this problem.
Now that I have a child of my own, suddenly sun protection has become a huge concern of mine. Not only am I looking after my own skin as I get to the ages when my family members have seen issues arise, but I am also dealing with a boy who has sensitive skin and loves to be outside.

I received a tube of Banana Boat Natural Reflect Sunscreen Baby and a tube of Banana Boat Natural Reflect Sunscreen Lotion for review and I have been quite impressed.
Let me start by telling you that I cannot stand the feeling of lotion on my hands or skin. I feel slimy and all I want to do is wash it off and then when it won’t wash off, I get irritated. Banana Boat Natural Reflect Sunscreen DOES NOT DO THIS!! I also have issues with allergies (as does my son, unfortunately) and we are very sensitive to perfume-like smells. Even some baby lotions (mostly the nighttime ones with lavender) will set off our allergies and we will both be miserable. Banana Boat Natural Reflect Sunscreen DOES NOT DO THIS!! This sunscreen lotion is gentle and smooth without that lotion and slimy feeling and it has a soft pleasant odor that is almost non-existent.
I’ll admit that I am not “crunchy” enough to tell you that I only look for natural products or I read the labels on everything I buy. I mostly go with what I know or I read other blogs for ideas of what to use for my son (probably why he continues to have skin issues..go figure!), but I like the idea of a natural product that feels and smells great.
Right now the Banana Boat Facebook page is sharing daily activity guides with tips and suggestions for having fun in the sun together as a family. During the 101 Days of Summer Play (from Memorial Day to Labor Day), you can take the pledge to encourage your children to play outside everyday. For every pledge, one bottle of Banana Boat Natural Reflect will be donated to the Hole in the Wall Gang Camp which is a residential camp for children coping with cancer and other serious illnesses.
Visit the Banana Boat website for more information on Skin Safety & Banana Boat products and you can connect with them on Facebook and Twitter.
i love this brand! i really appreciate the natural line.
Great reminder that we need to take precaution against the sun outside of the most popular summer months.
Our family uses a variety of Banana Boat products through out the year.
Thanks!
