White Chocolate-Covered Cherry Creme brulee
{Renuzit®’s Tempting Indulgences™}
#TemptYourSenses Inspired Dessert
I love the smell of something sweet baking in the oven. Something about baking makes me think of the holidays and all the wonderful smells. I can remember growing up and my mom would start in the early morning hours on a holiday meal and by the time we started to wake up, she had moved into baking the desserts. All of the aromas in the air almost pick you up and drag you into the kitchen (you know, like on the cartoons…). I didn’t naturally pick up that affinity to for cooking and baking, but occasionally I will try something and I’m usually just thrilled if it is edible. I’ve been “hanging around” with food bloggers lately and my husband talks about writing more on his food blog and I have felt inspired to start baking and cooking more. Earlier this week I showed you how The Boy and I made brownies and they were so yummy! Renuzit has come out with a new line of air fresheners called Tempting Indulgences. We were sent the creme brulee and chocolate covered cherry scents, but the line also includes a red velvet scent. Typically, I am allergic to a lot of flowery-type scents so when I’m looking for something to freshen my home, I look at fruity scents, but this dessert inspired line is amazing! A few sniff of this and I felt like I was going to take a bite!! Last night, we felt inspired by the #TemptYourSenses new scents from Renuzit and we made White Chocolate-Covered Cherry Creme Brulee. We headed to Walmart to shop for the ingredients for this yummy dessert and found this huge display of cherries just inside the door in produce. We grabbed a bag and headed to the back of the store for our other ingredients. The Boy has become very interested in cooking, especially with Daddy, so they took this opportunity to learn how to check the eggs in the grocery store before buying them. I checked the fragrance section of our Walmart because I wanted to see if they had the Renuzit®’s Tempting Indulgences™ fragrances yet, but all I found was this apple & cinnamon, which still looks “yummy” but I’m holding out for a Red Velvet… You can see the rest of our shopping trip in my White Chocolate-Covered Cherry Creme Brulee {Renuzit #TemptYourSenses} shopping trip Google Album. Hubby said he was all for teaching us how to make creme brulee, but he was not excited about pitting the cherries so I pitted them instead. They were so juicy and delicious! The Boy wanted to try them and he doesn’t usually eat fruits because he doesn’t like the texture of the skin, but he could not stop eating these cherries! I finally had to tell him to stop after 6-8 halves, but I think he managed to get quite a few more before we started cooking. Of course, my boy wanted to be in charge of the eggs. He does such a great job at cracking eggs, but this time Daddy had to separate them before he could beat them. My boy always looks so serious when he is helping. The cherries and sugar cooked so well and they were definitely tempting our senses around the house. After making the white chocolate and creme mixture, Hubby loaded up the ramekins and they headed for the oven. How fun that your son helped you make this! What a delightful combination, my mouth is watering!
This looks so yummy! I love white chocolate, thats such a fun twist!! Look at your little chef in the making helping you out.
Isra, it was really creamy and almost tasted like butter..with no butter in it! My husband was a chef for 20 years so he is teaching the boy everything. They are so cute together in the kitchen. We took pics of them cooking together for my husband’s blog header.
Ohhh! Now i want creme brulee!
Yummy! I had red velvet pancakes today. So, I can’t wait for this to come out.
Looks so good! And I am with you, I can’t wait to try the red velvet cake scent!
My wedding cake was Red Velvet so I’m thinking for my 5th anniversary I may have to recreate something “inspired”…
Oh yum does that look good!! Can you come over and bake for me?
Danielle, I would have to bring my trusty sidekick (my boy) and the chef (my husband). My son told me last night that he and daddy are the “chefeses”…to which I replied “and Mommy is the photographer”
Yum, that looks soooo good! My kids will love it.
I’d love to try the Renuzit, too. I’ve never smelled one in such a fun scent.
Mickey – they are soooo yummy smelling! I’m allergic to flowery smells so I always go for fruity, but this is even better!
Very yum! Thanks for the recipe. Your dessert looks so good. Why didn’t you call me over?
Soon, very soon, Tiffany!!
