Mommy and Daddy Time with International Delight Iced Coffee
Have you had a chance to try the International Delight Mocha Iced Coffee yet? I recently found out about this drink and I am in love!! Hubby and I had a day alone without The Boy and I treated myself to a yummy drink!!
I was invited to participate in an International Delight campaign to introduce the Iced Coffee and especially highlight the Mocha flavor. When I do drink coffee, it has to be “fancy” and it HAS to be Mocha so I was pretty excited about this one. You may remember a while back I told you about my coffee and caffeine affinity so you know I loved this. Hubby was just excited to spend some time with just the two of us and no boy – just for a day.
A couple of weeks ago, you may remember that my boy went on a trip with his Granny to Colorado. During that time, Hubby and I enjoyed spending time together alone. Since it was a work week for Hubby, we didn’t get to do much, but on his day off we took off on a day trip to Tyler to run some errands and just hang out together.
My Special Treat
When I don’t have to be awake for The Boy, I am usually trying to take a nap or just relax so I had to have something to get me going. Lately, my regular Diet Coke just isn’t doing it so I’ve been picking up a coffee at the coffee shop, or a coffee/energy drink at the store, and it HAS to be mocha flavored. I am not a fan of regular coffee so I’m usually ordering a fancy coffee and those can get very expensive. Even the can coffee/energy drink is almost $3 each!! As I mentioned, International Delight invited me to try their Mocha Iced Coffee and it sounded like a great idea to me.
I grabbed the cup they sent me and we headed to Walmart before going out of town. We found a HUGE display of Mocha Iced Coffee in our Walmart and a half gallon carton was only $3.98!! We grabbed a carton and some ice, tossed it in the ice chest, and hit the road. I enjoyed the coffee all day this way and we saved money on stopping at a coffee house to keep me awake. We also learned that we can pick up a twin pack of the International Delight Mocha Iced Coffee at Sam’s Club – more coffee, even better value!!
Q: Does International Delight contain gluten?
A: No, International Delight does not contain gluten.Q: Does International Delight contain lactose?
A: No, International Delight does not contain lactose. However, it does contain sodium caseinate, a milk derivative.
I probably haven’t mentioned this before, I am lactose intollerant. I try to ignore it most of the time and that causes me quite a few tummy problems. Anytime I drink coffee – because I get the fancy coffees with cream in them – I usually have stomach cramping and feel sick toward the end of the day. For me, it’s usually worth it because I will literally fall asleep standing up if I don’t have caffeine, but it irritates Hubby that he has to put up with my whining about stomach problems later in the day…and it’s not fun at all.
After drinking the Mocha Iced Coffee all day, I was expecting some severe stomach problems, but they never hit me so I checked out the ingredients and learned the Iced Coffee is lactose free and gluten free – BONUS!! Now that I know this, I think I have found my new favorite morning drink!!
