StinkyKids Review/Sponsor Spotlight @StinkyKids
Are your kids StinkyKidsTM?!!
My boy is talking a lot about his friends at daycare lately and they are at the age when parallel play moves into interactive play…and he is VERY interactive. I can see how the other children around him influence him to do things and how he tries to influence others as well.
This book, StinkyKidsTM and the Runaway Scissors, was a great book to help me talk to him about how others may influence you to do things that you know are not right.
The StinkyKidsTM motto: “Always Be a Leader of Good” was created to teach children to make right choices, not to follow bad behavior, but be a leader of good behavior.
StinkyKidsTM started with a small request from a 21/2 year old girl asking her mommy to paint her picture as a ballerina and has grown into a group of stinKers (10 of them, actually) who are allowed to be kids in all their glory, but at the end of the day, they always decide to do the right thing. Read more of the StinkyKidsTM story and learn about each of the StinkyKids on the website!!
I was sent the book, StinkyKidsTM and the Runaway Scissors, for the purpose of a review and I knew my son would love it – partly because he loves all books – but also because it has a great story, bright colors…and the best part…girls with ponytails and bows (his fave!!).
Meet Britt – she has a problem that she doesn't want to tell her parents about because she thinks she'll be in trouble. She goes on a playdate with some StinkyKidsTM friends and shows them her problem – she has gum in her hair!!
The kids spend the day trying all the home remedies they've heard about to help get the gum out, but nothing works…until they find the scissors. We all know this story – some of us have probably LIVED this story – but now how do you explain what happened to your parents?!! How do you admit you were wrong? How do the StinkyKidsTM face the consequences?
My boy loved the story and I just knew it, he loved the bright colored pages. I was surprised how beautiful and brightly colored the book pages were and I was tempted to not let him keep the book in his room. It's just too pretty!!
Of course, my husband would prefer more boys in the story, but our boy is a lover of girls with ponytails and bows so Britt is right up his alley!!
Meet the other StinkyKidsTM – all ten of them!!
Learn more about them on the StinkyKidsTM website and follow them on Facebook and Twitter!!
I’ve never heard of this. What a great concept! Adorable that your son likes girls with ponytails and bows, he sounds like a cutie.
