Fatty Friday – 294.4
Happy Friday, Everyone!!
I hope you all are doing well. This is going to be a quick post because I have a busy day and weekend. My extended family is coming to town for Christmas and I have lots to do!!
I sure hope that Hubby and I can resist the treats again this weekend as well as we did during the real Christmas holiday!!
I’m making my journey of weight loss public in hopes that the accountability will help me and talking about the struggle of addiction to food will help others!!
I was pretty sick all week and spent a lot of time in bed, but I didn’t stray from the eating plan. I just didn’t get any type of exercise and surprisingly I was really bad about drinking water (probably why it took me longer to feel better).
I have noticed this week that my original “skinny pants” that aren’t exactly skinny pants are getting looser. I can put them on/off without unbuttoning so inches are coming off even if the pounds are slower to show on the scale.
So, here it is…
I lost 1.2lbs this week!!
Hubby lost 8.4!!
I’m at 294.4 and despite Hubby doing so much better (ugh, men!) I am still encouraged to keep it up.
I wonder if it’s possible to lose slower when you are craving chocolate ALL THE FREAKING TIME?!! Maybe it’s because we’re trying to get pregnant and my hormones are crazy, but I cannot stop thinking about chocolate. I was telling Hubby last night that it’s not like I want a candy bar, but a big brownie or hot fudge sundae or a moist chocolate cake with good thick homemade icing…mmm!!
The Fatty Friday linky is about weight struggles, weight loss success and support, getting healthier, or whatever you feel would “fit” with these topics. You do not have to post something new on Friday, just link to something weight loss or fitness related that you posted during the week. I know several bloggers are in the NSNation and that would be a great post to link up. Maybe you are just needing some encouragement on a weight loss or fitness issue…link it up!! Maybe you have a weight loss related giveaway (lets keep those limited and specific to weight loss or fitness) but go for it!! Link up!!
The linky will stay open all week and will reset on Friday morning!!
If you know me at all, you know I don’t like rules so just do what you think it right and then go visit a few of the others and see what they have to say as well.
Leave a comment of encouragement…and don’t forget to encourage me!! I’m a sweets-aholic!!

Look at it like this, you lost 1.2 lbs even though you were sick and not feeling well. At least you didn't gain weight this week. I agree with the above comments that moderation is key, you can have a little treat now and then. Do you reward yourself when you make it certain milestones like 5, 10 or 15 lbs lost? If not you should because it will give you something to look forward to in the near future and it will be easier to think about losing 10 lbs instead of 60 for example. Keep up the great work and keep motivated
Thanks, Sasha!! I actually did treat myself today…I had bananas and strawberries (small portion) and while strawberries are okay, the bananas are high in sugar and it was covered in some syrup, but I scraped most of that off.
I fixed the comment issues!!!
Woohoo Janet & H! I love that you do this meme. So many people want you to feel shame just because you're obese. Do you think that fat people don't know that they are fat? C'mon now!
Anyway, I linked up a fat free, low cal cranberry jellies recipe that's really easy to make, too.
And, of course, I'm speaking of the general you, not the specific you.
Greta, you are so awesome!! When I saw “jellies” in the linky I was a little concerned..haha!! Thanks for linking up!!
You are doing great! And it is ok to give in to the cravings every now and then. Maybe a small piece of chocolate or something.
You guys are killing me!! You’re supposed to say stuff like “that chocolate is not more important than your health” blah, blah…but then again, I don’t want to hear that crap so Thanks!! Keep on enabling!!
You are doing great! Remember that muscle weighs more than fat, so remember that when the scale doesn't budge, but your clothes feel loose you are gaining muscle and that will in turn burn more fat!! Yea for burning more fat!!
I don't know what your eating plan is like, but chocolate oatmeal is awesome. 1/4 c oatmeal 1/2 c water. micro 2 min, stir in 1/4 semi sweet choco chips. Awesome!
Thank you so much, Garilyn!! We are eating only protein, with a few vegetables right now. We have found some chocolate syrup from Walden Farms that is awesome over frozen Fat Free Cool Whip…hmm, I should put that in next week’s post. Thanks for the inspiration!!
Awesome job! And maybe you can have that piece of cake or brownie! If you have like one a month, then I think it's allowed. Moderation is key. But would a small brownie help?
Look at the enabler here
Maggie!!!!! Shame on you
Thanks for the encouragement, you rock!!
I am so proud of you for doing this! I should be as well. I just need to get motivated! You are an inspiration though!!
Thanks, Lisa…you are so sweet!!
I hear you about issues with weight loss. I just need to remember that it's perfectly okay to step back from the computer, and get outside and go walking
)
D How much have you lost total, if you don't mind my asking?
In my opinion, that 1.2 is pretty darn awesome! Way to go! Look at it this way- this week you lost the equivalent of a guinea pig!
Well, we started this journey in May 2010 and I was 345.6. I lost down to 255 and we hit 2010 holidays and pretty much gave up.
I gained 50ish back and in the past few weeks I’ve lost about 17ish…I would have to look back through these posts to get the actual numbers..haha!!
Congratulations to you! Hubby and I are now doing a weigh in every Sunday morning. We started on 1/1 and then last Sunday he lost a WHOPPING 7.4 pounds. I lost 3.
It DOES NOT help that I work with chocolate and candy all day long. Or cakes, or cupcakes… but moderation doesn't hurt. It is my binging that does. Let's support each other more! Whoo hoo to yoU!
Link up with me and let’s support each other!! Men always lose faster and it’s so annoying!!!! But…on the weeks that I lose more than Hubby (very rare) then he’s not pleasant for the rest of the evening so I actually prefer when he loses at least a little more than me each week..haha!!
Congrats to you and your hubby!
Thanks!!
Hope your feeling better for your weekend with the family. Congrats on the weight loss!
Thanks so much, Ghada!!
Congrats on another pound lost! That's awesome about loosing more inches. Keep up the good work! You can do it!
Thank you for the cheers, Ashley!!
