Fatty Friday is BACK!!
Do you struggle with yo-yo dieting or just weight issues in general?
You may have noticed lately that more and more of my reviews and giveaways deal with weight loss products and I’m trying newer things.
Well, Hubby and I decided (once again) to head back to the place we know works for us…and we’re back on track…just in time for the Holidays!!
On September 12, I told you about our journey of weight loss with a center that created an eating plan for us. At that time, my weight was 297.8 and my lowest with this plan was around 255 (i think) so I was pretty down about it.
The first week back, I did really great although it was very difficult and lost 9.4lbs so I was 288.4, but Hubby didn’t do as well as he thought and got a little discouraged.
By the next week, it was really getting difficult to stay motivated. Hubby was discouraged and sticking to the plan was much more difficult this time. We were baffled because when we started this in May 2010, we went a solid 6-7 months with NO desire to get off the plan and we felt great. We weren’t used to this being so hard. However, I lost 3.2lbs so I was 285.2 and still trying.
Alright, next week up and I was struggling with lots of things. It was an off week and I had a small 1lb loss so I was 284.2 and Hubby was completely discouraged because he had a 1lb gain. Things were not looking good for our journey.
Hubby and I skipped a week because our anniversary fell on a Thursday (the day we weigh in) and while we had planned to go ahead and weigh in early in the day, we just blew it off.
Of course the following week we skipped again…just because…and then we just didn’t go back. That was in mid-October and honestly, we have been eating like crazy since then!!
In my last attempt to start up the Fatty Friday linky, I talked about our struggle with addiction to food and then I just stopped posting. I’m not sure if anyone really noticed so it was much easier to just eat and not worry about it.
Last week, Hubby and I were feeling like total crap and we noticed that The Boy was getting more whiny because we weren’t engaging with him as much. We always took pride in sitting with him and playing or running around with him and he just loves it. We were in a doctor’s office for Hubby’s knee problems and started talking about the obvious weight we had gained…and then we decided…we recommitted to each other that we are starting back and doing it right this time!!
We know it works and we used to feel so great!! One of The Boy’s favorite things to do with us was to go to the high school’s track and run with us. We swallowed our pride and just went back!!
Ugh – I was 312.2!!
I didn’t even know you could gain that much weight that fast!!
From September 30 (284.2) to December 15 (312.2)…that’s 28lbs!!
So, I guess you are wondering that because yesterday was Thursday and I’m posting this now…was it a success?!!
Heck, yeah!!
I lost 14.8lbs this week!!
Hubby lost 19.4!!
Ironically, I’m back to where I was in September – 297.4!!
So, I’m starting up the Fatty Friday linky again and I hope you all will join me. You do not have to post something new on Friday, just link to something weight loss or fitness related that you posted during the week. I know several bloggers are in the NSNation and that would be a great post to link up. Maybe you are just needing some encouragement on a weight loss or fitness issue…link it up!! Maybe you have a weight loss related giveaway (lets keep those limited and specific to weight loss or fitness) but go for it!! Link up!!
The linky will stay open all week and will reset on Friday morning!!
If you know me at all, you know I don’t like rules so just do what you think it right and then go visit a few of the others and see what they have to say as well.
Leave a comment of encouragement…and don’t forget to encourage me!! It is the Holidays after all…and I’m a sweets-aholic!!
It feels so good to be back!!
