I Need to Vent
Bear with me, I just need to vent!!
I started blogging on August 2, 2011 because I thought it would be fun. I wanted to share some Child Safety tips with readers and just see if I liked it. It’s not why I initially thought to start a blog. That all happened when I watched Extreme Couponing. I started reading blogs and became instantly addicted. I noticed that not many sites listed coupons matchups for Brookshires (where Hubby works) so I thought I might dabble in that a little.
The more I thought about it and read so many coupon blogs, I knew that there was no way I could keep up. So, I polled my relatives and friends about what they thought would be a great niche for me to blog. It was a “Duh!” moment when my aunt said Child Safety because that is what I do. My title at work is Child Safety Specialist!! So, it began.
I blogged a tiny bit about Child Safety and then started meeting other new bloggers who needed help. I had read and researched so much that I knew how to help (most of the time). The other newbies were so grateful and started helping back and I had the idea of the Newbie Blog Hop!! I’ve had a lot of fun meeting new bloggers and linking up.
I love it when I can help someone.
I started entering giveaway events (OMG, I’m addicted to that!!!) and have met some really great people. Some of the best event planners are so nice and giving.
I don’t know how they do it!!
But the past two days for me in the blogging world have really turned me sour. I really don’t want to go into details because that would potentially cause problems. If you’re reading this and you think it’s something you did…well, only you know that…but it’s probably not because the people who turned me sour would probably not read this or would not recognize it as being something they did.
I have done a lot, I mean a LOT, for other bloggers and friends. There are a special few who always appreciate and return the favor. I guess I just get a little burned out when things go sour, people feel entitled, things are said that are just down right rude…
Here’s the gist:
If a blogger posts something that you like and you want to post it too – especially if it’s never been done before – it is polite to ask that person before posting it. At the very least, give that blogger a little credit!!
If you have an issue with a blogger in a group and you want to ask them about it, don’t call them out in a group forum. Just send an email or private message or something. It’s common courtesy.
Alright, alright…I’ll stop there before I get ugly…I know I’m going to regret hitting Publish on this one, but what is a blog for if I can’t vent.
It’s my blog after all, right?!!
I didn’t think about this at first, but I think I’m going to link this up to a couple of memes that I haven’t linked in a while. Maybe if I focus back on what they have to say, I will feel a LOT better.
Thanks for sharing this series! I enjoyed reading all the things you poured your heart out about and can't wait to get to know you better through the Dallas Bloggers group. I especially enjoyed your process of following God through job trials and changes. Keep on sharing!
Thank you for reading it. It was fun to share it!!
Sadly, there is ugly that goes along with the positive of blogging. Hang in there. xo

I can only too well identify with this post. It seems that sometimes this crazy world of blogging is just a grown up version of Mean Girls. I’m sorry for whatever has turned you sour. I unplugged for 4 or 5 months because of my experiences. Now I realize, I write for me and the 3 people who comment or email me telling me how much they enjoy my blog. Keep bloggin’, sista!
I so hear what you are saying! It feels good to get it off your chest though right? I must say though… I’m a bit jealous of you [in a very flattering way] if you just began blogging in August of 2011 and already have 500 followers?! How in the world did you do it?! Well I’m a new follower
Happy Thanksgiving!

Sadly, there are bad apples in every group. I’m fortunate in that I haven’t had any really bad experiences yet!

I have been very fortunate too!! I have met some amazing people..and just hit a rough spot for a few days. But I’m all better now!! Thank you for stopping by!!
I agree with you on all aspects and am really sorry you have got burnt. It is really hard in the blog world because we have NO control over it. My only thought is that you can only re responsible for yourself. As long as your heart is right, just try to let the other people and their stuff go. I know it is easier said than done but it is better then becoming so bitter that you stop your blog. Hang in there, My Friend.,
