Featured Newbie
**Mommies Point of View**
Tell us a little bit about yourself and your family.
Hello, I am Glenda. I am married to my highschool sweetheart and we are blessed with a 3 1/2 year old son, Charles Wayne (Wiggles). I also have a daughter, Suzzane, but she was hit and killed in 2004. We have two dogs Lucy, a Chi Weenie, which is Charlie’s, and a Rat Terrior named Sandi. We are in Hurst, Texas. My son started school today which is fun for him but not for me.
Do you have more than one blog? If so, tell me about them!
I do have 2 blogs and they are Mommies Point of View {http://www.MommiesPointofView.blogspot.com} – a review and giveaway blog – where I talk about my family and friends and the businesses I am in. Then I also have Authors Book Corner {http://www.AuthorsBookCorner.blogspot.com} and it is all things book releated.
How long have you been blogging?
Only since Nov. of last year I am a novice.
Why did you start blogging? Is this also why you continue blogging?
I started as a way to promote my business and also as a way to stay in touch with my friends who are out of town and to be able to talk about my wonderful son.
No, now it is my business as I use it to do reviews and giveaways and I help other business and blog owners be seen. Plus I use it to earn income for my family as my husband is unemployed at this time.
Who does your blog appeal to? Is this who you thought would be your target audience?
It appeals to families and business owners. I thought it would only be for business owners but it is for families as I do reviews that family owners can use.
What direction do you see your blog going in the future?
I see it as a way for people to advertise their business while on a budget, plus a way to help other bloggers start there own business and a way to encourage families to work from home.
What is the biggest challenge you have faced so far with your blog?
Not having the right statistics to get the jobs I would like to do but I know that that will change as long as I do not give up. {I love this answer!!}
What do you love about blogging?
That I can share my feelings while helping others.
What do you NOT love about blogging?
That I do not know as much as I need to and that a lot of it is over my head and that I do not know how to get better. {Stick with us and we’ll all learn together }
What types of product reviews and giveaways do you feature?
Family Friendly items from manufacturers and also direct sellers.
What was your favorite product to review?
I love to get toys and things my son would enjoy or movies for my husband as he does so much for me. {Loving the supportive husbands!!}
What advice do you have for those wanting to get into this or up the value of their giveaways?
Take each day one step at a time and never give up. Also do not be afraid to ask for help.
Besides your blog, how else can people find you? Which method is your favorite/least favorite?
I use Blogger sites and have profiles on them and also Cafe Mom and Blog Frog. Stumble Upon and LinkedIn. I Love both Blog Frog and Facebook and I am not sure how Stumble Upon and Linked In work so until I do, I do not care for them.
Share your top 3 favorite posts from your blog.
Since I am redoing my blog I do not have three favorite posts as the one on my daughter has been taken down.
Share your top 3 favorite blogs to read and why.
Money $aving Michele – She is a virtual assistant that I use and she has taught me so much.
Do you have any bloggers that you consider to be mentors?
Pam Black from Life as a Mommy & Wife
Michelle of Money $aving Michele
Jennifer from Makobi Scribe
Stacie from Simply Stacie
Bree from Bree: What matters to Bree.
Do you have a weekly, daily, or monthly Blog Hop or Meme that people should join in? Tell me about it and share an info link.
Not at this time although I am thinking of starting one called Mommies Time Out
How do you find time to blog?
With a 3 1/2 year old, it is not easy but I have learned to take my computer everywhere and work whenever and I also work outside a lot as he is always outside.
What else would you like us to know?
That this is one of the best sites around and if you use it it will help you grow.
What is your best advice for a Newbie Blogger?
My advice is to find a blogging buddy and work with them on one project at a time until you learn it then go to the next step. Also do not be afraid to ask for help. I use a virtual assistant and would not be without her. {and stick around the Newbie Blog Hop for advice and networking }
I want to thank Glenda so much for taking the time to answer my questions and let us get to know her better!! Let’s all give her virtual hugs and support her in this blogging journey!!
