Where He leads…I’m following!!
I am joining Joan at the Grace Cafe today with Praises to the Lord for where He is leading me!!
Yesterday, Hubby and I were watching TV at lunch and I was curled up in a ball under the blankets because (a) I was freezing and (b) I was cramping so bad!! I wondered out loud why this month’s cramping is so much worse than it usually is and Hubby responded, “I wonder why God put so much pain on the woman for childbirth…” (or something to that effect)
I actually knew the answer from the Bible and told him that Woman was given this pain after Eve ate from the Tree of Knowledge.
I think Hubby might have been slightly taken aback by the fact that I knew this and that I recalled it so quickly.
(I have a terrible memory – and I really don’t know my Bible all that well)
New International Version (NIV)
The Fall
16To the woman he said,
“I will make your pains in childbearing very severe;
with painful labor you will give birth to children.
Your desire will be for your husband,
and he will rule over you.”
I’m not really sure where I’m going with this, but I’m actually proud of myself for knowing this and knowing where to find it and actually referencing it when it was appropriate…
I have been volunteering to teach the Sunday School class for children 4 years old and under at church and have volunteered for AWANA for the same age group coming in September. I pretty much fell into this, but I think I’m growing with excitement on where God is leading me with this. I am probably learning more about the Bible stories than the little toddlers right now!!
I wonder sometimes what my calling might be. I have thought it was Protecting Children, Social Work, Domestic Violence Awareness, so many things. I looked back at my old blog from Graduate School and saw such excitement in the posts about Social Injustice and the disconnect between Child Protection and Domestic Violence workers. I’ll probably post about those topics later on just to show the injustices that are out there.
But, I think that God is leading me to LEARN right now.
I’m a “baby” Christian and I have so much to learn. I want The Boy to grow up learning about and loving the Lord.
What better way for me to learn – and for The Boy to learn too – than for us to learn together…and for The Boy to feel as though I am teaching him.
What a gift God has given me!!
What gifts has God given to you recently? Were they unexpected?!! How will you share them with the world?
Hi Janet ~ this is wonderful! I teach (facilitate) women’s Bible studies at my home church and I find that I learn just as much (or more) than the women in the class. It sure makes me dig into God’s word more.
Thank you for linking up at the Cafe today!.
Blessings,
Joan
