Does your child have trouble expressing his or her emotions? Try out this free printable All About My Emotions booklet, inspired by Inside Out, as an activity on a rainy day or any day.
My boy, like many children, is full of emotions. He has emotional breakdowns on the regular and we deal with all the gamut of emotions on a daily basis. He may even be a little more emotional than some children. He has anger outbursts and crying spells and sometimes we even feel like we might need some help to help him control his emotions. But, for now, we’ve decided to go with this All About My Emotions booklet, inspired by Inside Out, to help him learn more about his emotions.
Have you seen Inside Out yet? We are dying to see it and it just came out in theaters, but we haven’t had a chance yet, but I know that my boy is going to love seeing all the emotions in action. This will really reinforce the booklet that I made and will help him identify his emotions and then learn to control them better.
I designed this booklet with my boy in mind, of course, but I think it can help any child who is learning more about their own emotions. I started with Anger because this one scares me the most. When I see my boy angry, screaming, and gritting his teeth, I worry about him. I know he has a lot of frustrations and his frustration comes out as anger.
I also included Fear because my boy deals with a lot of fears from worrying about losing one of us to fear of the dark. He comes by it honestly because I worry about the same things, but I want him to learn to control those emotions or, at the very least, learn what they are about.
To make the booklet, I picked up Inside Out toys from Toys “R” Us where I found a great variety of the toys. I picked up one type of each of the characters: Anger, Fear, Sadness, Disgust, Joy, and Bing Bong. I love shopping for all of Benjamin’s toys at Toys “R” Us because of their Rewards program. I get to make my boy happy and earn rewards at the same time!
We are planning to see the movie this coming weekend, but in the meantime, we’re working out way through the All About My Emotions booklet.

We still haven’t seen this movie, but I hear it is fantastic! We try to deal with emotions as they happen and address the issues at hand in a calm, rational manner. (Which may or may not always work). : )

I think the concept of this movie is too cute, and would like to see it with my nephew. Sometimes, he gets frustrated easily and he needs to walk it off a bit so that he can regroup his thoughts (and attitude).
