Chunky and hot, this spicy mango salsa recipe pairs perfectly with Delimex taquitos and tamales for a Cinco de Mayo celebration that will knock your socks off!
In my house, you all know that I don’t cook. I married a chef for a reason, ya know! But every now and then I get a craving for something and I ask Howard to kick it up a notch with his fine dining experience. Cinco de Mayo is coming up and we’re thinking of planning a little get together so we’ve decided to try out a few recipes. The first thing on my list was a homemade salsa so Howard took on the challenge and kicked it up quite a few notches to make this spicy mango salsa recipe for us to test.
This is not our normal quick and easy recipe that we share on the blog from time to time, but is more of an upscale fancy pants recipe that Howard created from his experience working in kitchens for almost 20 years. But, no worries, it’s not difficult and we’ll walk you through it. I mean, after all, most of Howard’s recipes are “throw it in the blender and mix it all together” type of recipes.
What you’ll need:
4 mangoes
1 tsp cilantro
1 jalapeno
1/2 red onion
Juice from 2 limes
1/8 cup red wine vinegar
1/8 cup sugar
1 tbsp salt
1 pinch cayenne pepper
1 tsp cumin
1 tbsp minced garlic
What you’ll do:
Cut the mangoes into small pieces to fit in the blender. Combine with all other ingredients and blend until the salsa reaches a desired consistency. Add small amount of water to smooth the salsa if desired. Serve chilled with Delimex taquitos and tamales.
This salsa, and any of your favorite dip recipes, combines perfectly with Delimex taquitos and tamales for a spicy Cinco de Mayo celebration!
I found my Delimex taquitos and tamales in the frozen food section where there are so many varieties of taquitos, tamales, tacos, and more.
Now, you see this spicy mango salsa recipe is perfect for any Cinco de Mayo celebration or a summer party. Pair it with Delimex taquitos and tamales and your party will be a hit!
the mangoes you are talking about our the fruit right… lol I ask this because my friend told me to use mangoers in a recipe and she mint green bell peppers… For in IN and some other states this is what they call green bell peppers… So that is why I am asking.. It looks like the fruit to me but just wanted to make sure…. Looks really good … Thank you for sharing with us.. Barbara
sorry for the miss spelled words
Yes, mango, the fruit! It is so delicious!
That does look really good! I just recently tried mangos in curry and loved how much the sweet counteracted the heat, I’m sure I’ll like them in salsa too!

That mango salsa does look incredible. It’s nice to mix it up from the regular tomato-based salsa. I can’t wait to top off my Delimex foods with some.

Red wine vinegar? I’ve never tried that in salsa before. I’m going to give Howard’s recipe a try, well – if I can find mangoes locally. Otherwise, we’ll skip the mango. I bet the sweetness of the fruit goes beautifully with the Delimex Mexican foods. #client

I really have to look for that Delimex brand in the stores–I have yet to see it. I understand completely why you call on your budsband to do the cooking—most of my past boyfriends were excellent chefs and I made sure they never knew I knew how to cook!!
