If you all are anything like me, you have quite a few holiday parties coming up this week and some of them are pot luck or bring a snack. You know that I’m no whiz in the kitchen and having a chef husband, I can’t just show up with something store-bought. Well, instead of enlisting my husband to cook something this time, I have decided that I’m pulling out an old trick that my mom taught me and making a snack that my little sister and I always loved when we were kids. I’m making Pear Salad with KRAFT MIRACLE WHIP and cheddar cheese!
This little snack really is silly easy, but tastes so delicious. It can be an afterschool snack or a finger foods potluck snack. It may turn people off when they see/hear what’s in it, but don’t knock it until you try it because it is the perfect blend of sweet, tangy, and a little salty and I think you’re going to love it.
What you’ll need:
1 jar KRAFT MIRACLE WHIP
1-2 cans pear halves
1 bag of shredded cheddar cheese
I picked my KRAFT MIRACLE WHIP up this past week and there was a $1 off coupon stuck to the top. Score! Of course, I can’t guarantee you’ll get a coupon, too, but it can’t hurt to try, right?
What you’ll do:
Lay out the pear halves on a plate. Put a small dollop of KRAFT MIRACLE WHIP on the pear. Sprinkle the cheese over the top. Enjoy!
Totally easy, right?! This has to be the most ingenious little treat anyone’s ever made. My mom used to make them for us for after school on special occasions, but these are so simple and you probably already have these ingredients in your house anyway. It’s a delicate little treat that will definitely be a conversation starter at a holiday party.
Now, if you’re a little more ambitious than I am and you want to make something delicious, try out this recipe for Banana Bread made with KRAFT MIRACLE WHIP and really wow your guests or party hosts.

I seriously don’t eat pears enough. I need to start. I’m not a fan of Miracle Whip, the taste is just too sweet and tangy for my taste, but you’ve reminded me that I need pears!

The individual pear salads are interesting. I wouldn’t have ever thought of pairing those items together but they sound great. Thanks for sharing this new recipe!

Wow, I would never think to combine pear with miracle whip and cheddar cheese. I’ve had pear and cheese before and like it but love pears plain the best!

It sounds interesting. I don’t know if my tastebuds would agree with the combination of pears, miracle whip and cheese, but hey it looks good in pictures!

This sounds interesting and is really fool proof to make (a necessity for me). It also sounds like it would make a good snack for me in the evenings instead of cookies!~

I love pears and would have never thought to pair it like that. I love making desserts like Flan and Tres Leches cake for the holidays.
