Top 5 Super Simple Snacks for Summer
Summer is here (how many times have you read that lately?) and your kids are going to be hungry often, so today as part of a sponsored post for #CollectiveBias and Nestle, I’m bringing you a list of the Top 5 Super Simple Snacks for Summer! #SummerGoodies
This Summer is my boy’s first Summer Break (yikes! He’s finishing Kindergarten!) and I want him to live it up! I have plans for a ton of activities and he is in sports, Summer camp at YMCA, and he’s made a best friend across the street who wants to teach him how to ride a bike. I want my boy to know that Summer Break is all about fun so we’re going to be busy, busy, busy.
Over Memorial Day weekend, our town’s waterpark reopened and we headed straight out to get wet and have some fun! We were out of the house all day and my boy was having a blast. When we did finally make our way home, it was time to head over to the neighbor’s house to play, but my boy was crying “hungry!”. If your children are anything like my boy, they don’t have time for a sit down meal when they are worried about playing so Summertime is all about snacking.
Luckily, earlier in the week I had planned for this to happen and I headed to Walmart for some snack foods that would give my boy the energy that he needed and the taste that he couldn’t resist. I picked up a 12 pack of pepperoni Hot Pockets and two boxes of Outshine fruit and veggie bars, Strawberry Rhubarb and Creamy Coconut. He was psyched to see them both and he was craving a hearty snack.
Are you ready to hear my Top 5 list?
Top 5 Super Simple Snacks for Summer
If your child is a snacker rather than a meal eater, you need to know about these snacks:
1. Hot Pockets
Hot Pockets are a blast from the past for me because my mom always had these on hand for snacking when I was a child. This is a hearty snack with lots of protein, premium meat, and real cheese, to keep the kids going on all their Summer adventures. I also love buying the ham and cheese flavor, but my boy is a pizza fanatic so he loves the pepperoni.
2. Grilled Cheese Sandwiches
These are simple to make and so much fun for the kids. Try sneaking in some wheat or white wheat bread to change it up and experiment with different cheeses from the deli and your kids will love it.
3. Raisins, Grapes, Strawberries, and other fruits
Sneak in some fruits from time to time to give your kids some fun finger food snacks with a fruit and veggie tray. Add a little fruit dip and they will gobble it up!
4. Crackers, Summer Sausage, and Cheese
Make a snack tray look like an oversized lunch tray with crackers, summer sausage, and cheese slices. My boy loves these little lunch treats during the school year and they make a great snack for Summer as well.
5. Outshine Fruit and Veggie Bars
It’s so much more than those sugary popsicles and snocones! Try the fruit and veggie bars for a cool snack during the Summer and your kids will love it. Outshine bars are packed full of real fruit or fruit juice and they are unbelievable tasty. My boy loved the Strawberry Rhubarb so much that he tried to convince me that snacktime was several times throughout the day. I love the Creamy Coconut with real coconut pieces inside.
Summertime is all about having fun, playing all day (and into the evening), and skipping meals, so you have to keep the kids fed through snacktime. Make sure you’re getting their tummies fed and their nutrients in by making the snacks count. Fulfill your Summer Bucket List by having all the best super simple snacks for Summer on hand!
