So, I’m not feeling well today. I’m tired and my allergies are killing. I have a headache and I have to go to work. But, it’s Friday and that means it’s almost the weekend and we have a busy weekend ahead of us! I don’t have any profound advice today about weight loss or getting healthy or anything really. This is just a life update and a weekly weigh-in update and hopefully I’ll be back on my game next week with something new and exciting…and pics of this upcoming weekend!
First, let me tell you about my son’s sports. That boy. He is a sports fanatic and he loves his team sports. He is currently in Soccer and then T-ball started this week. We are only in practice for t-ball, but they are overlapping with soccer practices as well. On Tuesdays, he has t-ball at 5pm and then soccer at 6pm and since I don’t get off work until 5pm, he is always just a few minutes late to both practices. Luckily, they are very close together so we don’t miss too much and the coaches are very understanding.
Next, this weekend is Healthy Kids Day at our YMCA and they are having a Color Dash/Run. We participated in this last year and our boy took off running without us. Luckily, it’s only one mile and there are YMCA staff (who’ve known our boy since he was 8 weeks old) at check points to look out for him. They would tell us as we walked past that he was still running and we would see him from time to time just running along. Sometimes he would be in a group and sometimes he would be all alone just running away. I love that this boy is so active and participates in active sports.
This year, I’m a little more worried because Howard won’t be with me. Maybe I can try to keep up with that boy a little or convince him to run backwards to me and check in from time to time. I don’t know. I know he’ll be safe, but my anxiety has been so high lately that I just worry I’ll freak out on the field. I’ll take lots of pics and let you know how it goes on next week’s update.
Finally, speaking of updates, I know you really came here just to see how my weight loss went this week and I have good news!
I lost 9.6 lbs this week!
Howard lost over 15 lbs. this week! We totally rocked it out this week!
What’s our secret? We followed my own tips for bouncing back after a weight gain. We also ate at home more and had more activities during the week. I definitely increased my water intake and I felt better (well, until I started feeling bad yesterday) throughout the week. I think I have a little stomach bug and I ran out of probiotics and haven’t picked up any more yet (that’s probably the problem, actually).
