Updated Weight Loss Photos {Fatty Friday}

So, this week was interesting as usual and I’m not sure what inspired me, but I took some updated weight loss photos and posted them side by side with my “before” picture and I was completely overwhelmed with the response!

Before I show you the pic (don’t scroll down there and peek), I’ll just give you a little run down of the week. I discovered a new place to get a good salad in town. It’s a little local burger joint called Chip’s Burger Village. Their chef salad was so good and so big that I actually felt full after eating it!

I realized about half way through the week that I have been eating only salad during the day and that could really be contributing to my exhaustion. I have been tired and cranky and I think I’m not getting enough protein. My boy and I love to go out to eat, but that just leads to me ordering another salad that I love. However, that chef salad that I mentioned actually has quite a bit of protein on it. So, there’s that.

The plan this week is to get more protein in (as soon as I start feeling better, today has been a bad tummy day) and to maybe even start trying some exercise to get my energy up. We’ll just have to see how that goes. 😉

Okay, so here’s the updated weight loss photo (and then keep reading for my weight loss this week)

4 month weight loss update - lost 39.6 lbs

Do you remember the “before” pic at 369.8 lbs?

Before picture at 369.8 lbs

So, yeah, there’s a difference, and yes, I still have a long way to go, but I am actually quite proud of my 4 months and almost 40 lbs! And guess what…

I lost 1.8 lbs this week!

I’m at 330.2 lbs now! I was really hoping for 2.2 because that would have put me right at 40 lbs, but as it is I have lost 39.6 lbs in 4 months. I feel great (except this tummy thing today) and Howard is still right there with me. He finally passed me up this week and he has lost 39.8 lbs in 4 months. (MEN…grr!)

Give me a couple more months and I’ll post another updated weight loss photo. For now, it’s just about time for me to start shopping for some new jeans. I was just able to buy new bras and I love how they are holding the girls up nice and making my rib area look even smaller.

How are you doing with your weight loss? Want to share any updated weight loss photos?

Yep! Got my floor done 🙂 But, since it’s snowy and really messy outside, they need to be done again. And they will get done again – next week 🙂

I saw your post on laughwithusblog and decided to check you out. WOW!!! I am SUPER impressed!!!!!! I have been a WW member off and on (more on than off) over the past 11 years. I lost 52 pounds the first time around. When I quit, I gained 48 of those pounds back in the snap of two fingers. I joined off and on probably about 4 or 5 more times over the next 4 1/2 years. Then I joined again (for good this time) and quit again 6 months later. Then I joined again (for good this time) and went for about 3 3/4 years. When I finally decided I was wasting my money and quit, I went back for one more weigh in. I was 7 pounds OVER my starting weight. So, that was a WHOLE lot of wasted money. (However, I made a really good friend in my leader, and I suppose maybe it kept me from going even higher.)
So, my last meeting was October 29th, and I’m up 20 pounds from even then. Every single day, I wake up with the intention to start over…again (the story of my life), but I lose control in the afternoon.
So, I ordered a new digital scale for home that is supposed to be absolutely flaw-free. I’m hoping that will motivate me. I can’t keep doing this.
I get so frustrated with my mom because my dad is absolutely GIGANTIC. To the point where he can hardly function. But, she continues to buy him treats and junk and feeds him all of his favorite foods (and there is not a single healthy, or even remotely good-for-you, food on his list of favorites). Yes, he’s the one that chooses to put the food down his gullet. But, my thought is, if he wants it bad enough, make him go get it himself. I’m so thankful for my husband that never brings ONE thing into this house that will tempt me. If I want the junk, I have to go get it myself. I don’t need someone constantly throwing that temptation in my face. It’s much more difficult to say no to food that is staring you in the face than it is to say no to getting in the car and having to go get it.
Anyway, all of that to say…I get how hard it is. And, your accomplishment is breathtaking. GOOD FOR YOU!!!! I’m really happy for you.

Mari, Thank you so much for coming by and reading my blog and I’m so glad that you found this post first!

I get it. I’ve been there! I did WW about 10 years ago and LOVED it. I lost 60 lbs and then found a boyfriend and gained it all back. When I got married almost 6 years ago, I was around 330 (my current weight) and I got up to 345 before my husband and I decided to do something. He was at 462! We started this program we are on and I lost 90 lbs. He lost 160 lbs! We were feeling great…and then we stopped going. Neither of us were at our “goal” weight, but we gave in to the holidays and the sweets. After almost a two year break, we went back and I was up to 369. He was at 450 (ugh, men suck, haha!). So, we’ve been back for 4 months and we’re starting to feel good again. We are both almost to 40 lbs lost and we are very motivated because we have a 5 year old son who loves to play sports and be active. We want to be active WITH him!

I hope you stick around and read a little of what I have to write. I chronicle my weight loss every week in hopes that I can encourage others to lose as well…or at least not feel alone!

Thanks, again, for coming by, and thank you for the encouragement!

Wow! So you know all about quitting and going up and down and all around 🙂

I got off my elliptical and sat here at the computer cooling down before getting into the shower (if I don’t cool off first, I exit the shower sweating even more than when I entered no matter how cold I have that water. TMI? Maybe.) and before I knew it 40 minutes had passed. I sat here reading previous posts. I read about your family and that you met online. I Love that!
My husband and I met online, too. We met in person in April of 2002 and were married 7 months later. So, we have a bit in common 🙂 Our first couple of years were ROUGH to say the least.
I look forward to possibly getting to know you better and maybe keeping in touch. I want to go back and read more of your blog, but my kitchen floor is BEGGING to be cleaned. It’s been 2 1/2 weeks. YIKES!

        • janet says:

Oh my goodness, we do have a lot in common! I can’t stand it when I shower and get out sweaty. Haha!

Oh, speaking of cleaning…you should check out my messy house posts and see what I did over December. Just do a search for “messy house” in my search bar and you’ll find my (failed) attempt at an Advent calendar. 🙂

          • Mari says:

…and, here I still sit. Apparently, my floor isn’t annoying me enough 🙂
I’ll check those out later. Like as soon as my floor is done. Which, I promise, will be today.

          • janet says:

Did you ever get your floors done? My floors are always the worst except now my son likes to mop so that motivates me to sweep and/or vacuum so he can mop. We have two dogs and hardwood floors so we are always fighting with dog hair tumbleweeds!
