Crazy Crafts for Kids { mosaic art }
This Crazy Crafts for Kids post is a sponsored post. I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Elmer’s. I received product samples to facilitate my review and a promotional item as a thank you for participating.
It’s been a while since my boy and I had a chance to sit down and do some crafts. He started t-ball and karate and we have just been busy doing other things. This weekend we have some family time together and he kept begging for a craft. Daddy doesn’t do crafts (well, he did one craft with us once) so we finally had the chance to do something when we went over to my dad’s house on Sunday. Even Aunt B joined us!

Most of our crafts these days start out with construction paper and scissors. You know how my boy loves to cut paper. Well, on Friday at daycare, my boy cut his finger with scissors and he decided that we needed to do something less stressful.
Elmer’s was so kind to send us some new glue products that we could use for any project we wanted. My boy was excited about the glue sticks and said that I could use the bottle of glue “this time”.
Reinforcing its commitment to innovation and to supporting consumer demand Elmer’s® Products, Inc., makers of America’s favorite school glue, is proud to introduce Elmer’s® School Glue Naturals™— the FIRST and ONLY school glue made with naturally occurring ingredients and available in recycled packaging.
We each picked out a color of construction paper and started tearing the paper into pieces. My boy wanted me to make a snake and he was planning to make a snake as well. He started tearing the pieces really small, but I reminded him that they could be larger pieces as well.
I started my “snake” picture by making a design with the Elmer’s Natural pourable glue and then arranged the torn pieces of paper along my design. Do you see where I was going with the curling of the snake? Yeah, it didn’t quite turn out the way I thought. Aunt B says it looks more like a snail. :-/
[Elmer’s] pourable School Glue Naturals consists of 99 percent natural ingredients. The primary ingredient in the adhesive is plants, specifically American-grown corn—a rapidly renewable resource. The bottle is made from 25 percent post-consumer recycled materials and the label contains 20 percent recycled paper, is printed with soy-based ink and is applied with a natural rubber adhesive.
The boy used the Elmer’s Natural glue stick to make his “snake”. He was so proud to show off his masterpiece. I don’t know why he always poses like this with his crafts and I’m pretty sure it has nothing to do with him being a blogger’s child. Cheesing for the camera has always been a part of his life.
Our Naturals Glue Stick formula consists of more than 88 percent natural ingredients. The primary ingredient in this particular adhesive is soy beans, another rapidly renewable resource. The sticks are made of 25 percent post-industrial recycled plastic. The labels are printed with soy ink on FSC-certified paper and the card is made from 100 percent recycled paper board.
Aunt B did not get the memo about the “snake” crafts and started making her mosaic art with multiple colors and flowers. What was she thinking?! Oh yeah, she is pregnant with a GIRL! She is not good at our Crazy Crafts for Kids {aka Boy Crafts}.
Elmer’s School Glue Naturals is just as strong, safe, non-toxic and washable as Elmer’s traditional School Glue. For more information, including details on where to buy Elmer’s School Glue Naturals, visit www.elmers.com. Find more activities for kids of all ages on Elmer’s Project Pages!

What a cute idea! I get in control freak mode around glue and try to keep the mess at a minimum so needless to say we don’t play with glue much. I think I need to lighten up more!

Yes! Lighten up and just enjoy the time together. That’s what it is really about.
