Healthy lunches on the go made easy {Rubbermaid LunchBlox™ Sandwich Kit}
Back when I was pregnant (4.5 years ago) my husband used to pack me the most wonderful healthy lunches to take to work. He did a lot of research on what was healthy for pregnant women and then took into consideration what I liked and would pack a well-rounded, and yummy, lunch for me. Fast forward to May 2010 when we started our new eating plan and he knew what was allowed, how much, and again, what I liked most and would pack me these amazing lunches. However, healthy lunches to my husband usually meant lots of components and they all had to be seperated until lunchtime when they could all be combined and I could enjoy my quick lunch at my desk and keep working. The problem with that – I hated carrying it around and then I would forget it or lose a container somewhere or there just wouldn't be enough room in the community-shared refridgerator for all of the containers I was carrying for the day.

When Hubby saw this Rubbermaid lunch blox and all of the pieces, he was thinking the same thing I was and said, "Remember those healthy lunches I used to pack for you? This would have been perfect"… yeah, I know… By the way, what happened to those?
The Sandwich Kit (pictured above) includes 2 Snack Containers, 1 Side Container, 1 Sandwich Container and 1 Medium Blue Ice. This is perfect for a sandwich, some vegetables, a dip of some kind and a small dessert. That would have been an ideal lunch for me. Hubby would have likely also make a small salad in the sandwich container with dressing, vegetables, and tuna (during the once a week tuna meal he would allow for me). There are so many options you could try for healthy lunches with this lunch blox kit. I love the Blue Ice™ as well because there would be times I would show up to work and start working, only to forget that I needed to put my lunch in the refrigerator. This would keep it cold until lunchtime.
Healthy Lunches for Back to School
Back to School is on everyone's mind. My little one starts Kindergarten next year, but today he actually moved up to the last class at his daycare that will prepare him for K next year. I'm taking notes and learning all the tips and trick for Back to School right now so I'll be prepared. My sister was just telling me yesterday that the school cafeteria lunches are almost $2 here and I already know they are not the healthy lunches that Hubby and I could provide for our little man. This Rubbermaid LunchBlox™ Sandwich Kit would be perfect to put in a backpack or lunchbox and would stay cold until time for your little one to eat.
One final (FuN!) feature to the Rubbermaid LunchBlox™ Sandwich Kit is that the containers all connect and snap together for easier carrying. My boy won't lose the pieces and neither would I when we take our healthy lunches with us. These are so much fun!! I did find that some of the pieces didn't snap together tightly enough to hold upside down like pictured, but obviously some did. I do not think this takes away from the functionality and handiness of the stacking pieces at all. It would have been even better for small children, though, if they did stay together easily.
