Summer Moving Tips from Cablemover
When I was in college, I was blessed to have the same roommate for 8 years (yes, it took me 8 years). Anyway…we moved almost every year and for some reason we always found ourselves moving during Summer. I have no idea why we did this, but it just seems that Summer is Moving Season!!

When we moved to OH from PA we were caravaning with our truck and van. The van had something go wrong with it and my husband had to fix it in the autozone parking lot.
When we moved into our house, it was in the country outside of town, we took a break and I drove to town for dinner and got lost coming home
i packed our bedroom set and forgot all the screws at the old house, was over an hour away and we werent going to go back. long drive again
Not really funny, but when I first got married, we took our moving truck through Yellowstone. It was late at night as we came back, and our truck was going along the river. There was no bridge, and I was rather worried because it was soo dark. My husband at the time said, “Well you sure can’t fall asleep on this road.” You can imagine how calming that was for a young bride (I was only 19) who was barely married a month.

I drove from Florida to Mich. with a cat and litter box on my back seat.

No funny moving stories here…thankfully! LOL They were more frustrating than anything and none of our whole 2 moves have been more than 5-7 miles from each other! I am a control freak and dh is laid back! Do I need to say anything else!
When we were moving and I was younger, my mom, sister & I were driving to our new house in Georgia. This was when CB radios were the in thing. We ended up talking to all these truckers and it was so much fun!
I left behind my all my pots and pans. Had to go back and ask the landlord if I could get my stuff I forgot! Felt like an idiot, he acted like it was putting him out….LOL

Fortunately all of my moves have been really, really good with no drama, only one instance of tears when my then husband-to-be broke the caster off of my grandmothers handmade cedar chest. Fortunately we were able to fix it.
We moved into our current house when I was 36 weeks pregnant with my youngest daughter. My husband wouldn’t let me do a thing! He’s such a sweetheart.
