Overtired or Narcoleptic? #NaBloPoMo
Have you ever been so tired that you fell into a deep sleep and woke up not knowing where you were or even what day it was? This happens to me quite often and Hubby thinks there maybe something wrong with me. You know how I mentioned getting road hypnosis? I have been getting like this at my desk at work lately, too. I will start reading something and my eyes will just close and I lean forward and the next thing I know it will be five minutes later. No amount of sleep or coffee will keep me awake when I'm like this!!
When I was in high school, I was working a full time and a (more than) part time job during the summer and then reduced it to one job when school started. I would go to school all day and work all night and then come home and do homework. I barely ate because I wasn't interested. I was so accustomed to working in the evenings that I didn't know what to do with myself when I didn't have to work.
One afternoon I came home from school and didn't have to go to work so I laid on the couch and quickly fell asleep. About an hour later, my mom sat on the side of the couch to wake me up for dinner and I nearly JUMPED OUT OF MY SKIN!! I started bawling and freaking out because I didn't know if I was supposed to be at work or school or what?!!
I wonder if this type of exhaustion is normal or am I dealing with some type of narcolepsy?!!
How do you combat this type of exhaustion? On the other hand, when was the last time you nearly jumped out of your skin?
I am tired all the time. I have random bouts of energy but they are few and far between. My husband brought me to the Dr. awhile back to have me tested for tons of stuff. He thought maybe there was some long term side effects from having HELLP syndrome when I was pregnant or from the damage to my liver from HELLP. After they did lots of tests they all came back clear and they have no idea why I am always so tired.
