Today is a Happy, Happy Friday, Yippee!!
I celebrated Christmas with my extended family last weekend and resisted all the goodies…until my dad made homemade (with home grown) blackberry cobbler…it was SOOO worth it!!
I was really worried this week about my weigh in because my "skinny pants" were feeling a little tighter and even left marks on me a few days, but I think I decided that I was retaining water. I have a bad habit of drinking soda all day long and forgetting the water until the evening (or in the morning when I feel all crampy).
But…it didn't affect me as bad as I thought!!
I lost 3.6lbs this week!!
Hubby lost 0.6…hmm…
I'm at 290.6 and I'm so excited.
I have a couple of "teaching moments" this week.
(1) Our nurse this week, Kathy, is always so nice and tries to help us figure out what is working and what is not because she loves it when we do well. After Hubby weighed in she was trying to figure out why he had a small loss and I mentioned to her that he is looking much smaller this week (and he is almost perfect with the plan, including water) and she said that she has learned that when you are burning fat at a faster rate, it leaves "holes" in your fat pockets. Your body tends to fill that with water, which doesn't weigh as much as fat AND doesn't take up as much space. So it is possible that he has retained a little bit of water in those pockets and that our B12 shot (along with his diaretic pill) will flush that water out throughout this week. Interesting, huh?!!
(2) Remember how I've mentioned I have been craving chocolate ALL THE TIME?!! I had forgotten that when we were on the plan last year, we used to eat Fat Free Cool Whip (frozen) like ice cream and then added Walden Farms chocolate sauce to it as a treat. Walden Farms makes this fantastic line of products that are calorie free, carb free, fat free, everything free (except a little higher in sodium, of course). They make just about everything you could think of that would make your life a little better when you don't want to add those tasty carb calories to your regular food. Their most popular items are their salad dressings and Hubby loves them!! I, of course, like their chocolate sauce, ketchup, and other fruit sauces. We have no idea how they make these tasty treats and we probably don't want to know what's in them, but it makes life a little better.
There is also a peanut butter powder that I like to add to Cool Whip called PB2 from Bell Plantation and is low in carbs and fat as well as calories, and tastes like Reese's peanut butter.
We have found all of these products at Drug Emporium (a health food and vitamin drug store) and Brookshire's carries most of the salad dressings. (Hint: you can also find the peanut butter and other great products at the link above) Last night, we stopped by and picked up some of our faves and had "dessert" when we got home.
The Fatty Friday linky is about weight struggles, weight loss success and support, getting healthier, or whatever you feel would "fit" with these topics. You do not have to post something new on Friday, just link to something weight loss or fitness related that you posted during the week. I know several bloggers are in the NSNation and that would be a great post to link up. Maybe you are just needing some encouragement on a weight loss or fitness issue…link it up!! Maybe you have a weight loss related giveaway (lets keep those limited and specific to weight loss or fitness) but go for it!! Link up!!
The linky will stay open all week and will reset on Friday morning!!
If you know me at all, you know I don't like rules so if you think it "fits" with the theme, link up, and then go visit a few of the others and see what they have to say as well.
Leave a comment of encouragement…and don't forget to encourage me!!
If you are a blogger interested in reviewing Plus Size clothing and/or weight loss related products then come visit the Passion Plus Facebook Group for some great support, thanks to Whole Lotta Mama!!
Disclosure: The Bell Plantation link and image contain affiliate links, which means if you click through and buy something, I might make a little money from it. However, Hubby and I discovered PB2 from the center we go to for weight loss and loved it long before I had a blog or knew they had an affiliate link. It's just yummy stuff!!
