Child Abuse Reporting in Your State (and Canada)
Now that school is beginning again, children are going to be coming back to school with reports of situations happening at their homes over the Summer Break.
If you are a School teacher/counselor or Sunday School teacher or a parent who invites a child over for a sleep-over, you may hear a tale of Abuse or Neglect from one of these children.
Do you know what to do? Do you know where to report?
The US Department of Health and Human Services – Administration for Children & Families has provided a list for all states on where to report Child Abuse/Neglect.
You can download the .pdf or view it on their website.
You can find a list of State websites and a list of Prevention Resources.
How can you help to spread the word about Prevention?
Look at this list (.pdf) on the website on ideas on how you can help.
For my Canadian readers, you will visit the site for the
Public Health Agency of Canada
What experiences have you had in hearing a story from a child about their abuse? How did you handle it? Did you know what to do?
